I never really see the theme of protecting our environment as many claimed. People love this movie for different reasons. One of my favorite talk show host said he cries whenever he see the scene in which 饒速水琥珀主 got his name back. Well, I love that scene too. But what remains in my mind for almost 10 years is the train that goes silently across the face of boundless still water, under the starry sky, with 千 and the "faceless man" sitting next to each other, having no idea about their future. There are times when I feel sorrow. I close my eyes at night, and I see the train coming.
By the way, 久石 譲 is the true master. He always work with, the director of 千と千尋の神隠し. Here's another of his work, from the movie もののけ姫, perhaps my second favorite movie, which is directed by 宮崎 駿 also.
千と千尋の神隠し is also one of my favorite animes. ><
回复删除Is there anyone else who also think はく is very handsome? :)
What I really respect the 吉卜力 company is that they drew every picture with hands instead of the computer, which makes me think if this is the true enthusiasm about making good アニメ。
I just saw this for the first time a little over two weeks ago. It's already one of my favorite movies. I would agree that it's hard to explain why, but it's just really great.
回复删除Once again Miyazaki = win. Yea I'm not sure what I like about spirited away... I guess its the atmosphere? Kinda difficult to put into words. Haku getting his name back is the most memorable scene to me.
回复删除JoelFischer: I like that, too. That's partly why I titled this post "remember my name". But the train scene wins finally....
回复删除I think the most important sentence is that "Don't eat too much, you will be killed."
回复删除i find your post title very clever and cool!! Spirited Away has been one of my favorite movies since i was really young. I recently drew a picture of Chihiro!! It didn't come out too well but what can you do. But yeah it was really a great movie....i need to watch it again.
回复删除the only miyazaki movie I actually finished watching was ponu the goldfish girl by the cliff (ehh, excuse my wrong made-up name), but JOE HISAISHI's music is definitely my love for life.
